Privacy

A plain-language summary of what BuddyRow keeps and who can see it.

What we keep

  • Your email address and the name you choose.
  • The vendors you add, with any notes, and whether each one is shared.
  • Who you’re friends with, and the invites you send (the email or phone number you sent them to).
  • Messages you send friends in BuddyRow, including any vendors you tag in them.
  • Any feedback you send us, with your name and email so we can reply.

Who can see it

  • Your direct friends see your name and the vendors you share. Never your private ones.
  • A chat is seen only by you and that friend. Vendors never see it.
  • When you tag a vendor in a chat, that friend sees the vendor’s name, trade, company, phone and email, even if you keep them private on your list. Your notes stay private.
  • Friends of friends see nothing of yours.

How we use it

  • Your email is used to send sign-in codes and the invites you ask us to send.
  • When a friend messages you and you haven’t used BuddyRow in the last 15 minutes, we email you once for that conversation, with a short preview, until you read it. Turn this off on the You page or from any of those emails.
  • If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name and email address.
  • Sign-in uses a secure cookie. There are no ads or advertising trackers in BuddyRow.
  • We count visits and sign-ups with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you personally.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account anytime from the You page. It permanently removes your vendors, friend connections, invites, messages and any feedback you’ve sent, and we email you once to confirm.
